CAFx, Copenhagen
15. September 2022Conversation #4 in the series "Who is the city for?"
In the light of new knowledge about how different groups in society do not feel included in the city that urban planners may think is designed for all, we ask the question: How can we do better in the future? Food for thought seminar: future urban planning
DTU, Copenhagen, online
2. december 2020
The coronavirus has spread rapidly in cities around the globe. How will the virus make us think differently about urban design in the future? Innovation districts like Science City Lyngby with plans to expand co-working and collaborative spaces, and design for open innovation, community and density are challenged. At the same time, there is an increasing demand for sustainability in our built environment. This Food for Thought Seminar gathers companies, researchers, urban planners, architects, investors and developers to discuss our new reality. How do we build for education, innovation, and networking in the light of Covid-19? And how do we respond to an urgent need for climate adaptation and green solutions?
I will reflect about these questions together with Jorge Lobos (ARCH + H.R.), Deane Simpson (KADK),, Jeff Risom (Gehl) and Jacob Steen Møller (DTU Campus Service)

And if activism is assumed to happen from the ‘outside in’, how far can public designers act as activists for good change from the ‘inside out’?

9. oktober 2020
In the evolving dialogue between “cities, citizens and culture”, the rebalancing and renegotiating key aspects of our urban community are in many ways similar in all cities. But given local, national and regional historic, cultural and political realities, there are highly individual and contextualized experiences and challenges as well as different dynamics and forces in each city as well as different protagonists and initiatives. In defining the most relevant topics for NORDIC URBAN LAB in ATHENS, the programme have 4 themes or rather “perspectives/lenses” in which to look at these dynamics. I will talk about "Culture and Urbanism"

NORDIC URBAN LAB
NUL Athens, online seminar
9. oktober 2020
